Envelop more than just your guy or gal this Valentines, with this take on “Brie en Croute,” a classic dish with warm brie and puff pastry. Translating simply to “cheese wrapped in puff-pastry,” this recipe is effortless, perfect for a night of love and laughter.
Just grab your favorite brie, carve out some love with a jelly heart, and wrap with this pillow-like puff pastry for a taste of romance.
- Your favorite brie cheese
- Tisbhi Cherry Shiraz Preserves or jam of choice
- Puff Pastry (check package directions for thawing instructions, if applicable)
- Cinnful Cocoa Pecans (optional)
GRAB YOUR HUNK
Valentine’s Day is all about your favorites, so pick up your go-to brie cheese and get ready to melt with it. We love this little gem of Weybridge — a soft cows milk cheese perfectly sized for two.
ADD A HEART TO LIGHT A SPARK
Reminiscent of the days spent carving your initials in the trees, adding a heart to your hunk will certainly put a little love in the air. Just take a paper towel or wax paper, fold in half, and cut out a tiny half heart as a template with perfect symmetry.
Fill your empty heart with Tishbi Cherry Shiraz jam (and pause for photo op/the obligatory couples selfie).
Grate the Cinnful Cocoa Pecans over you heart to add a sweet and crunchy flair.
WRAP YOUR WEDGE UP IN A PUFF PASTRY BLANKET, AND TWIST
Lift opposing-ends of the puff pastry and bring together. Then just grab the other edges and pull together and twist the top. Paint on an egg wash (eggs whisked with either milk or water) to make your puff pastry glow and to assist with browning.
Bake for 20 minutes on 375F degrees and get ready for a puffy, melting gift to come out on the other end. You can also use the puff pastry extras to create hearts, flowers, and bows to decorate the outside of the puff pastry.
GO BITE FOR BITE WITH YOUR VALENTINE
Add additional jam and sprinkle on as much of those Cinnful Cocoa Pecans as you desire. Get a napkin ready because this is going to be one deliciously messy treat.
This is one of those occasions, where three makes more than a crowd – it makes a night. You can also serve with light water crackers to make sure you scoop up all that melty cheese and jam.
Will try it
