12 Days of Pairings: Testun con Frutta e Grappa di Moscato

The fourth and final cheese in our Occelli ‘Reserve’ line-up is Testun con Frutta e Grappa di Moscato.

The most festive-looking of the Occelli Reserve cheeses, Testun con Frutta e Grappa di Moscato is a sheep and cow milk blend aged for 12 months, and enriched with grappa. A decorative mix of dried apricots, figs, prunes and sultanas is laid on top of each wheel, imbuing the dense, moist paste with a distinct fruitiness.

This cheese is such a showstopper both visually and flavor-wise that we’ve chosen to pair it with nothing more than a strong, non-alcoholic beverage! For a new take on afternoon tea, serve a generous wedge of it in lieu of cake with black tea (Darjeeling or Earl Grey); or try it as an after-dinner dessert with a double espresso.
